Billy Rice – Lead Pastor
Billy has served as the Pastor of Watkins Chapel Baptist Church since 2021. In that time, God has done a remarkable work in and through this congregation, and Billy counts it among the greatest privileges of his life to shepherd this church family.
Billy has a deep passion for the Gospel, expository preaching, and seeing the Spirit of God move in and through His people. He is committed to ministry that is rooted in Scripture, centered on Christ, and oriented toward the spiritual growth of every person who walks through our doors.
Billy holds undergraduate studies from Luther Rice College and is currently pursuing further graduate education at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Billy and his wife Katherine have three children — Jaxon, Abby, and Bennett.
Worship Leader – Teresa Creech
Teresa is a lifelong member of Watkins Chapel and has been leading our congregation in worship since 2020. Few people love this church the way Teresa does — she has watched it grow, prayed for it faithfully, and poured herself into it for years.
Teresa has a genuine gift for music and the arts, and she brings both excellence and warmth to everything she leads. Her heart in worship is not performance — it is to point every person in the room toward Jesus. Sunday mornings at Watkins Chapel are richer because of her faithful service.
Teresa and her husband Sherwood have two children, Taylor and Hunter.
Children’s Leader – Amber Danchak
Amber is a lifelong member of Watkins Chapel and has been serving as our Children’s Ministry Leader for over five years. In that time, she has built a ministry that is warm, intentional, and deeply committed to planting the Word of God in the hearts of the next generation.
Amber brings creativity, consistency, and genuine love to every child who walks through our doors. She believes that kids are not just the church of tomorrow — they are the church of today — and she leads accordingly.
Amber and her husband Tim have two boys, Walker and Deckard.
Youth Leader – Luke Taylor
Luke and his family joined the Watkins Chapel family in 2022, and since then God has grown in and through them tremendously. In addition to serving WCBC as Deacon, Luke also serves as our Youth Ministry Leader and has been investing greatly in the lives of our students. Before coming to WCBC, Luke and his wife Jovanna spent a year on the mission field in Honduras, where they developed a deep conviction that the Gospel is worth everything — a conviction that shapes the way he leads our students today.
Luke is passionate about seeing teenagers encounter the real Jesus, ask hard questions, and grow into disciples who are grounded in the Word and unashamed of their faith.
Luke and Jovanna have two children, Emmanuel and Chloe.

From Sunday morning volunteers to behind-the-scenes servants who never seek recognition, this church runs on the grace of God and the generosity of His people. We are deeply grateful for every person who calls Watkins Chapel home and rolls up their sleeves to serve. It is a joy to do ministry together!
